  Sam and his mechanics Tom and Mark are highly-skilled, honest, and very patient professionals who have provided fantastic service on our many cars over the years. Their troubleshooting expertise and diagnostic skills are superior to any dealership or independent shop we've used in San Jose. Additionally, their rates are very reasonable, but most importantly they are HONEST. We are so grateful to have found Tom there almost 20 years ago - - he has been our go-to gentleman for all of our automotive needs. We had met Mark at another shop previously and were so happy when he joined Almaden 76. I brought my hybrid to them after being told by the dealership that it needed a $4,500 repair, and Mark made adjustments and minor repairs that fixed it (this was 3 years ago with no reoccurance of the original problem since). That's just one example of their excellence. Sam took ownership several years ago, and the business has blossomed into our neighborhood treasure that we boast about to neighbors and highly recommend through our newsletters and online forums. Sam's patience and professionalism are unmatched.

  Easily the best mechanics around. No bullshit work and professional service. Will continue to come back to this place for reasonably priced oil changes and basic maintenance.
