  Great place for hikes. Better than Fremont peaks because less number of people. If its a sunny day, you can see hand gliders. They have a fishing pond full of Bass (need a fishing license). Grilling and picnic spot is first come first serve basis. Toilets available.

  Great place for hiking or just enjoying the view. Parking lot can be crowded weekends and evenings. Closes at sunset and the parking lot is locked. Many miles of trails, including access to Alum Rock Park. Golden eagles, peregrine falcons, vultures are common sights. No dogs allowed on trails. Stay on marked trails to avoid disturbing the ecosystem (burrowing owls are one of the sensitive species). Watch for rattlesnakes (rare). No nearby restrooms - you have to go all the way back down the hill. No smoking or fire - extreme fire danger in the summer and fall.
